Marilyn Monroe's Last Sitting

If you've been in a bubble the last few weeks, you may have have missed all the hubbub about Linsday Lohan's photo shoot that was an homage to Marilyn Monroe's Last Sitting. The last sitting was Marilyn Monroe's last photo shoot; she was murdered found dead six weeks later in her Brentwood home.

All of the blogs were working themselves up in a lather because Lindsay finally revealed her cans, but no one really sourced the original photo shoot it was based on; that's what I really wanted to see. I found Marilyn's Last Sitting in it's entirety, I think. Some guy on Flickr had it up.

I looked through the pictures and I have to say it was nice to see some humanity in Marilyn. She's such a cultural icon to the point where she's mostly associated with merchandise, status, conspiracy theories and the like. You see her like you've rarely seen her; being playful, vulnerable and with a natural smile. I enjoyed seeing Marilyn the person.
